DOUG SPALDING LANDSCAPE PHOTOGRAPHY

Here are just a few of the frame styles you may purchase. Others are available. Most frames will be somewhat different than what is pictured, as the wood purchased is likely to have different grain each time acquired. One of the characteristics of real wood is that the grain is is always a surprise. If you need something specific I can usually find it for you. Remember I use no commercially available frame stock. I make every effort to build a frame that will suit the photograph it will surround.

Each frame is handcrafted from oak, red birch, hickory, birds-eye maple, figured cherry, black walnut or a combination of exotic woods. I use no metal staples, nails or other fasteners in my frames. A simple wooden spline, in a contrasting color of wood, is used to reinforce the mitered corner joints, thus adding a unique dimension to the frame. Each frame  is hand-sanded and multiple coats of varnish are applied before it is waxed and buffed to a fine luster.
