What's happening here?

I needed a workspace that didn't get in the way. That meant having a table with no legs. Some people might think that makes no sense. "No Sense" is my middle name.

With the help of my friend Newman  the challenge was easily met

The side and back of the bench is screwed to a ledger strip on the wall.

An architectural knee is used to support the outer side and front.

The visual appearance is clean and neat. The space saved is amazing.

Sometimes a lamp just begs to be created out of nothing much. This one is of a scrap of lumber I've been tripping over for years. It replaced one of the two lamps we've had for over 25 years. Come back soon to see the second one being made of a root we brought from a canyon hike in Hawaii 35 years ago.

Hawaiian Root Lamp as described above. The Pennsylvania walnut base is from a tree that was harvested at Eastern Baptist College (now Eastern University) in 1966. The walnut has waited even longer than the root to become something.

We needed/wanted something different for furniture - everyone should have a nice swing in the living room, don't ya think? don't forget to click on the little pictures
